The highlight of my children's day is to go to the Wolves after school. The atmosphere is great, the coaches are fun and engaging, and it's nice to see my kids having fun!
We are The Wolves- a team dedicated to opportunity, success and participation in sports within the community. Established in 2017 as a small Basketball Association in Sydney, we have grown and expanded into a multi- faceted Sports Association, providing services not only in basketball but also in volleyball, futsal, badminton, multi- sport and so much more!
As one of the Co- Founders of The Wolves, our Chairman Mr. Ronnie Khalil is an ambitious, energetic and dedicated individual with a great passion for sports and community outreach. As head of the board, Ronnie plays a great role in steering the direction and vision of the Association, using his experience in business development and entrepreneurship to enhance opportunities for the people in our local communities through sports and recreation.
With over 20 years of management experience, Medeya is the mastermind behind most of what you see at The Wolves! With her extensive experience, knowledge and passion for sports and recreation, Medeya oversees the general workings of the Association, finding innovative ways to reach and engage the community in healthy, enjoyable physical and social activity. Outside of The Wolves, you might find Medeya building furniture from scratch or watching terrible medical dramas on TV.
Daniel has been involved in sporting industry for over 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Venue Manager at the Wolves Sports Centre. In his role, Daniel hopes to continue developing opportunities to participation and ensure everyone feels welcome and safe at the facility. When not at the WSC, Daniel still enjoys sports related activities including taxing his children to their sporting commitments (like most parents), running around on the soccer pitch with other old men trying to rekindle their youth and sitting on the couch watching his beloved Tigers.
With over 30 years experience in basketball and a great passion for youth sports, Damein is the Head of Basketball and Culture at the Wolves. Damein aims to use his platform to keep the culture of this great game alive by growing the sport and nurturing passion, dedication and commitment to basketball, values he believes are important in life both on and off the court. He also hopes to continue creating pathways for young athletes through sports and education. In his spare time, Damein enjoys playing golf, listening to music and exercising.
Coach Ron has been involved in the basketball industry for over 35 years, being a certified USA Basketball Coach. With his great passion and knowledge of the game, Ron aims to continue engaging with the community and grow the sport of basketball through education, strength and conditioning, and encouragement in a positive environment. As much as Ron loves being on the court, Ron enjoys relaxing with a good movie in his spare time.
James has been with the Wolves for almost 3 years, nurturing the growth of basketball through coaching. His passion for basketball began at the young age of 9, when he continued to develop his skills through competitions and basketball programs at Barker College. At the Wolves, James enjoys sharing everything he’s learned about basketball over the years, using his knowledge to create opportunities for young players to learn and develop their skills. In his spare time, James likes hanging out with his mates, playing NBA 2K or of course, watching the basketball!
Sara has been at The Wolves from the very beginning since it’s doors first opened in 2017. Utilising her extensive knowledge of the organisation, Sara works behind the scenes and in other parts of the Association to help provide members with the best possible experience at The Wolves. As a basketball player and referee herself, Sara values the importance of sports in the community, and enjoys being part of a team so committed to providing healthy outlets to youth in the community. In her spare time, Sara is either studying, practising piano or hanging out with her pet cat, Halley.
Faye is one of our most dedicated and enthusiastic team members, using her meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to be the main point of contact for all our members! Although she never worked in sports before becoming a Wolf, Faye quickly learned the ins and outs of the industry to help every member get the most out of their time and experience with The Wolves. She loves that there’s never a boring day at work, and even on Sundays when she’s supposed to be relaxing at home, you’ll always find her supporting our representative teams even if they’re playing on the other side of Sydney!’
Our mission is to provide quality, structured and comprehensive sporting and recreational programs to the community in various locations. We aim to deliver excellent developmental programs that teach sound fundamentals, good sportsmanship, character, discipline, leadership, and teamwork in a positive, caring, inclusive and safe environment.
Our promise is that our athletes will develop the skills required to play, participate, and enjoy all sports, whilst building character and sense of camaraderie with fellow Wolves. We aim to provide other members of the community with a warm, hospitable, and comfortable space for recreation, family bonding and personal development.
The Wolves strive to support, sponsor and host unique, engaging community events when possible in the hope that our services enhance member’s appreciation and enjoyment for sports, fitness, recreation and life.
